Here's some of what he got up to this week.
Spent a lovely day with a gentleman who is becoming a regular student. Love his enthusiasm and curiosity about bread and baking and he has some engrossing stories too, although wasn't too keen on the one about the clan chief who cut off his hand to claim a bit of land... Here's some of what he got up to this week.

I have the usual IT accessories that seem to go along with modern life. I have the computer, the tablet, the smartphone but I have never thought of myself as hooked on them. I am not constantly checking my emails. I don't take the machines on holiday with me, I do not spend my waking hours texting family or friends, I have never felt the need to be so always available or informed. So it was something of a shock this morning when I found a dead mobile phone to find myself on the verge of panic about it. How would I hear about my lovely daugher's interview? What if mum and dad needed me? What if my handsome son made contact? And how could I take photos of the garden or the baking or the 'things' that passed my way? Fortunately although I still don't know the cause of the problem it all was easily resolved and I'm back to my belief that I'm not dependent on these technologies. But I now know that's just a snobbery on my part. When push comes to shove, I'm as dependent as the next man (or woman)! |
